Since Google took over blogger, it has become increasingly difficult to find & log into my old blogger account here. So, here is my new blogger address:

The issue was not the Religious Life (which I think Anglicans can be validly engaged in!) but rather this particular expression of the Religious Life (The Order of Preachers). Dominicans have a particular expression of the Religious Life which is bond closely to the Successor of Saint Peter. Maybe another example would be an Anglican Society of Jesus which takes a vow to the Holy Father.

Hi BobI just saw your comment to my comment on Anglicans Aping Rome. Sorry for any misunderstanding. However, I would still concur with my original statement. The Anglican Order of Friars Preachers found at http://anglicanop.org/ has been in contact with the Dominicans in Rome and even been invited to meet with them in Rome. If they are willing to engage in dialogue and take a "fraternal interest" with the AOP, should you and others be a little more open minded about it? Thanks again Fr Aidan
